PRESS RELEASE


An earthquake of 7.9 richter scale struck Nepal at 11:56 am on 25th April,2015. Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi called the Ambassador-Designate of Nepal to the Republic of India H.E. Mr.Deep Kumar Upadhayay and expressed grief and sadness over the disaster. The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India assured of providing any immediate support and cooperation to Nepal at this difficult situation. Also, Hon.Minister of Home Affairs of India, Shri Rajnath Singh called the Ambassador-Designate and expressed sadness over the loss and damage caused by the earthquake.


The Ambassador-designate has expressed his deepest gratitude to the kind offer of support. A rescue team, with immediate necessary support has already been dispatched to Nepal by the Government of India.

PRESS RELEASE ON ARRIVAL OF AMBASSADOR DESIGNATE

H.E. Mr. Deep Kumar Upadhyay, Ambassador-designate of Nepal to the Republic of India arrived in New Delhi today to assume his functions. H.E. Mr. Upadhyay is accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Mithula Upadhyay. He was received at the Indira Gandhi International Airport by officials of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India as well as the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi.
